Dialysis Machine (Single / Double Pump)
A dialysis machine is a device that filters blood for people with kidney failure, with different models described by their pump configurations: a single-pump machine typically operates in a double-needle mode, while a double-pump machine can perform both double-needle and single-needle modes. The single-pump model uses a single arterial blood pump, and during single-needle dialysis, a venous pump is added to alternate the return of blood. In contrast, a double-pump system is designed with both an arterial and a venous pump, allowing for continuous blood flow through the dialyzer in single-needle mode.
