Arkray anti-A1 lectin is a blood grouping reagent used in blood banking to differentiate between A1 and A2 blood cell subgroups. This reagent is a purified extract from Dolichos biflorus seeds that specifically causes red blood cells with the A1 antigen to clump (agglutinate). No agglutination indicates the absence of the A1 antigen, helping to identify A1 cells from weaker subgroups like A2.
